A fender is the body panel over the wheel, between the bumper and the door. It covers the wheel and shapes the side of the car.

Fenders are most often replaced after an accident. A new fender usually has to be painted in the car's color.

When buying, check the side — left (LH) or right (RH) — and the generation: fenders of the same model from different years often don't match. On some models the fender is aluminium.
